This is Billy Bishop right before one of his battles
Billy Bishop was born on February 8, 1894 in Owen Sound, Ontario. He signed up to join the war after he got expelled after cheating on the exam at Royal Military college. He then joined the Royal Flying Corps in 1915 and got his pilot certificate. At the end of the war he claimed 72 victories but were entitled to 22-27 because he fought alone so there was no witnesses to confirm his kills. Billy Bishop was awarded many medals such as the Victoria Cross and the distinguished Flying Cross.
